Graduation Requirements

Graduation Tracks
WAY Academy offers three graduation tracks to meet the needs of students. Upon enrolling students are placed on a graduation track that meets their needs and future plans.
22 Credit Graduation Track
Incoming 9th graders are required to earn a minimum of 22 credits to receive a diploma from WAY Academy. This track is encouraged for students planning on attending college.

20 Credit Graduation Track
Students who are behind in their amount of credits can be placed on a 20 credit graduation track. This track requires the same Michigan Merit Curriculum requirements, but reduces the amount of elective courses.

18 Credit Graduation Track
Students who are at risk of aging out of earning a high school diploma can be placed on a 18 credit graduation track. This track requires the same Michigan Merit Curriculum requirements, but reduces the amount of elective courses.
