Michael Schwartz is the Student Engagement and Graduation Coach at WAY Academy SW. He has been involved with schools for 15 years after careers in law and catering. He has taught Social Studies at an alternative high school and then has been working on restorative practices in middle school to make sure that students are able to stay in school.
Michael is drawn to this position because he feels that young people need to think about life after school pretty early on, however, it can be confusing for many students. He is hoping he can use his life skills to help young people to make the choice of what is best for themselves based on where their interests lie.
Outside of the school day Michael enjoys cooking and bicycling.
